What's inside

Here is my honest Beyond Body book review and I last updated. We’ve currently added recent screenshots in the user reviews section. You’ll see their current results and experience of the program.

I was super excited to try the Beyond Body weight loss program as I have seen a lot of buzz around the influencer space and many women telling their success stories and how simple it is to follow.

With all products and services, especially in the weight loss space, there is positive and negative feedback that keeps balance, Beyond Body isn’t immune to this.

Beyond Body book has received some opinionated reviews from bloggers who use the brand name to get views only to bait and switch you to their products or services all while never trying the program for themselves.

I actually purchased the program and this is why I formed my own personal experience. This is my own opinion and with any weight loss program, results vary.

We often come across weight loss programs designed for the masses and don’t address the root cause of weight gain . They take a one size fits all approach that can be frustrating and disheartening for those attempting to lose weight.

Most of us want a simple, personalized, sustainable program without splashing loads of cash on personal trainers or nutritionists to fail anyway, right?

My Beyond Body Reviews

Beyond Body book offers a simple but impressive book with a personalized program and Assistant app that can help you make healthy, sustainable changes to your lifestyle.

I was impressed with this book’s ability to address the root causes of weight gain and why most people DON’T lose weight on the most popular weight loss programs and provide the fundamentals of building long-term healthy habits and encouraging a healthy lifestyle in a personalized and straightforward way.

A short quiz , and you have a personalized meal plan and workout routine tailored to your requirements.

So what makes Beyond Body’s book so successful? My in-depth review will look at Beyond Body’s standout elements and how they help thousands of women transform their bodies and feel amazing!

Let’s get into it.

How does Beyond Body Work?

Every individual is different. We all have different lifestyles, different body types, and different habits. Therefore, there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to weight loss.

So often, I come across weight loss programs designed for the “average” person. So often, these are unsuccessful.

Even if an average weight loss program succeeds in the short term, they rarely provide long-term lifestyle changes.

That’s why Beyond Body takes a different approach.

With a simple and fast quiz about your background, lifestyle, and preferences, Beyond Body can learn about your body type, diet preference, exercise experience and your goals to provide you with all the personalized information you need to reach your weight loss goals.

Beyond Body Quiz

Beyond Body isn’t all about weight loss. Following and maintaining a healthy lifestyle plan requires the right mindset and enjoyment. It’s no use eating healthy and exercising but being miserable while you do.

With this in mind, Beyond Body puts focus on sleep patterns, mindfulness and stress relief techniques, healthy living, and managing your work-life balance.

In just 28 days, Beyond Body can help you develop healthy habits that suit you and support a healthy lifestyle for the years ahead.

Every Beyond Body copy contains a 28-day meal plan to help set you on the right track towards your fitness goals. You can edit the recipes with healthy additions or mix ingredients across the recipes to create your personalized dishes.

In addition to the meal plans, you get a personalized workout routine . Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced gym-goer, Beyond Body will help you burn more calories , increase your cardio health, and build flexibility and strength.

Just imagine how you will feel after 28 days? We all want to feel great, look amazing and maybe take those cheeky booty pictures… Maybe that last one is just me? 🤔

Anyway…. Moving on.

Beyond Body Meal Plan Explained

Beyond Body Meal Plan Review

Anyone who has tried a new meal plan will know how frustrating and difficult it can be. Not only do most weight loss programs expect you to become a pro chef overnight , but they also ask for an array of bizarre and often unpleasant ingredients.

Nutrition is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle. Having a healthy diet can have many health benefits including heart health, weight management, improved mood, and strong bones.

And that’s just a few of the many benefits.

However, not everyone knows how to stick to a meal plan or design a balanced diet. Some of us might go to a nutritionist or hire a personal trainer to help us. Beyond Body negate the need for either , offering meals plans you can tailor to suit you.

Beyond Body 28 Days Meal Plan

Flexible Meal Plan

The flexibility of Beyond Body’s meal plan means that you don’t have to own a 5-star restaurant and shop at the most expensive stores to cook a nutritious and tasty meal. For every meal, there are substitutes, options, and alternative meals to find what works for you.

You can even combine different parts of different meals to come up with your own mouth-watering creations. This is because the focus of Beyond Body is on ingredients, not specific dishes.

By keeping the meal plan as flexible as possible, Beyond Body allows you to figure out what foods work best for you. You can cook within your budget , cook foods you actually like, and after 28 days you’ll be in the habit of eating a healthy and balanced diet.

Beyond Body Meal Plan

Beyond Body Meal Taste Test

During my Beyond Body review, I wanted to take some pictures of preparing my lunch before work. In the photo below I made the Beyond Body salad wrap.

Beyond Body Meal Review Photo 27-4-22, 9 27 41 am

This is probably one of the fastest and easiest meals to prepare when you need a filling meal during a work lunch break. I did add in extra pieces like pickled cucumbers, tomatoes and caramelized onion.

I recommend with any diet, adding in extra veggies and salads to bulk up the food, this helps stay full for longer. Because you shouldn’t be starving from one meal to the next.

They give plenty of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner to try and they are super tasty and easy to make. You’ll get endless substitutes and a great selection of snacks between each meal.

Overall, following their meal plan was simple, delicious and fast meals to prepare without requiring to spend hours in the kitchen.

Hypocaloric Diet

Grounded in medical research and weight management principles, Beyond Body’s meal plans are centered around the hypocaloric diet. This works off the basis that eating 200-300 fewer calories a day can make the world of difference to your weight.

With a hypocaloric diet, there is no need to eliminate entire food groups from your diet to lose weight. This isn’t enjoyable or sustainable. Instead, the focus is on gradually reducing the calories you eat and choosing the healthy option more often than not.

By building healthier habits into your diet, you are more equipped to sustain a healthy lifestyle.

Allergies and Intolerances

The book even caters to those with allergies and intolerances. Beyond Body will customize the meal plans to suit any of the following:

  • Wheat and Gluten

Beyond Body Food Intolerances Guide

Beyond Body Workout and Exercise Plan

I personally enjoyed the exercise plan and workout guides. I’m super busy so fitting in a workout that isn’t complicated or requires a lot of equipment was a breeze to do.

Everyone’s body works in different ways. Some are more flexible, some have better metabolisms, and so on. Whatever your body type or favored training style, Beyond Body will find a workout to suit you.

Beyond Body understands the important role exercise plays in a healthy, balanced lifestyle. The numerous health benefits such as weight loss, increased strength, increased flexibility and mobility, and improved heart health are enough to suggest you should be adding exercise as part of your weekly routine.

Throw in the mental health benefits and there is no argument that exercise plays a crucial role in a healthy lifestyle. Exercise can boost your mood, improve decision-making and learning, and alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety.

Beyond Body Workout Plans

Personalized Workouts

Beyond Body offers personalized workout plans based on your fitness levels, lifestyle choices, and other preferences.

Each tailored exercise routine begins with a warm-up, leading into a combination of cardio and strength training. Your session will then finish with some stretching and cool-down activities helping you be ready for your next session.

Every workout is designed to provide a challenge to the individual. If you fancy a day off the HIIT workouts, you can try out one of the Low-Intensity Steady State (LISS) workouts in the book to burn those calories away and ensure a cardio hit. Popular LISS exercises include walking, swimming, running, and even roller skating!

In just 28 days, Beyond Body can transform your mindset and body with personalized training programs.

Beyond Body Exercise Plan

Tips on Sustainable Lifelong Healthy Habits Section

A great feature of Beyond Body is the strategies it offers for developing healthy habits. There’s no point in following a workout plan that forces a complete change in your lifestyle because it is unlikely that you will maintain the lifestyle changes.

Instead, small and subtle changes to your lifestyle such as developing good habits and eliminating unhealthy habits are essential. Beyond Body offers dedicated sections describing unique daily routines and strategies to develop sustainable, lifelong healthy habits.

After 28 days of sticking to these routines and developing new habits, you won’t look back. Transferring to a healthier lifestyle couldn’t be easier.

Beyond Body Healthy Habits Tips

Consult With A Nutritionist From Beyond Body

Sometimes we all need that extra information or help to achieve our weight loss goals. Often, that extra help can just be with your meal plans and eating habits.

With this in mind, Beyond Body offers the opportunity for you to hire a nutritionist to guide your eating habits.

The cost of consulting with a nutritionist through Beyond Body is very affordable and you can either add this ability at the checkout or simply order it later if you require a little more help.

Beyond Body Nutritionist

Nutritionists can help people stick to a healthy diet. They facilitate a focus on the correct foods, teach the art of a well-balanced plate, and provide that extra motivation throughout your weight loss journey.

21 popular BookTok books and why they went viral

Before perusing bookstore shelves for the book to break your reading slump , you may just want to scroll through TikTok first. Turns out all the recommendations you need could be right at your fingertips.

Fittingly called BookTok (short for “Book TikTok” ), the subcommunity of the social media platform is self-described as “the biggest book club on the planet.”

Enthusiastic readers connect with one another to share book reviews, reactions and curated lists of recommended must reads.

This niche corner of TikTok, with the hashtag #booktok, has amassed over 112 billion views. With numbers like that, no surprise it’s a powerful force within the publishing industry with BookTok darlings tending to fly off the shelves. It has been credited for helping authors sell over 20 million books in 2021, according to NPD BookScan data per the New York Times .

Even Hollywood is taking notice of this BookTok effect with some of the most popular reads being adapted into movies and TV series, like “It Ends with Us” by Colleen Hoover and “Daisy Jones & the Six ” by Taylor Jenkins Reid.

Trending page-turning titles range from highly anticipated new releases to older hidden gems. So, what is BookTok recommending right now? We rounded up 21 of the most buzz-worthy books on the social media platform to add to your reading list.

"Red White and Royal Blue" is a bestseller turned TikTok sensation. That is, stage a fake friendship. But as the two spend more time together, it becomes harder to deny that there is a connection between them. 'The Night and its Moon' by Piper C.J.

the night and it's moon book cover

The first book in a four-part series, which touches on subjects such as race, abuse and LGBTQ+, "The Night and its Moon" has BookTok absorbed in a fantasy that feels so real. Orphans Nox and Amaris have just been separated. They're just now, for the first time, life outside of an orphanage. Their journeys take them to brothels and to mountains, past foes and assassins and toward a war between humans and magical creatures.

'A Court of Thorns and Roses' by Sarah Maas

a court of thorns and roses book cover

And as she spends more time in her new home, she begins to discover feelings for Tamlin and uncover the truth about his world. But trouble looms ahead, as a wicked shadow grows in the land and Feyre has to find a way to stop it. This fantasy read is the first of a five-part series that has transcended the bookish realm and is being adapted as a TV series on Hulu.

'Someone Else’s Shoes' by Jojo Moyes

Imagine walking in another person’s shoes, literally . Two women accidentally swap bags at a London gym, leaving them both not only in possession of new shoes but also a different reality. Sam Kemp is struggling to keep her family afloat but when she suddenly sports six-inch high red crocodile Christian Louboutins, she begins to exude a newfound confidence. And while globetrotting Nisha Cantor is in the midst of the bag-switching chaos, her life is upended when her husband cuts her off financially. Despite the differing adversities the two women face, they are tied together through their shoes. It's a lighthearted book but moving book about the mix-ups and opportunities brought on by colliding with a stranger.

“Stone Maidens” by Lloyd Devereux Richards

stonemaidens book cover

This mystery novel published in 2012 just skyrocketed onto the bestseller list when the author’s daughter posted a TikTok about her dad’s modestly selling book.

As the chief forensic anthropologist for the FBI Chicago field office, Christine Prusik has seen her fair share of creepy cases. But her newest assignment seems to top them all. A serial killer is strangling young women and leaving their lifeless bodies in southern Indiana ravines with a curious calling card of carved stone figurines. And even more peculiar, the figurines are replicas of the spirit stones found among the primitive tribe in Papua New Guinea that Christine narrowly escaped while doing field research a decade prior. Now she has to determine if this haunting connection to her past is just a coincidence or is there more at play.

'The Inheritance Games' by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

the inheritance games book cover

Billionaire Tobias Hawthorne leaves Avery all his money — only she has no clue who he is and why she needs to move into his former home to receive the inheritance. When she arrives at Hawthorne House, occupied by Tobias’ family whom he just excluded from his will, she gets caught in a world of wealth and privilege with danger around every turn. And the longer Avery stays, the more certain she becomes that the inheritance and house are clues to something that she’ll have to solve in order to just survive. The book, with Knives Out vibes, has two other titles in the series with a fourth expected later this year.

'They Both Die at the End' by Adam Silvera

they both die at the end book cover

For Mateo Torrez and Rufus Emeterio, the hypothetical question of what would you do if you only had 24 hours left to live is more than something to casually consider, it is their reality. On a day in September, shortly after midnight, both teenage boys receive a call from the futuristic Death-Cast notifying them of their impending doom. Mateo and Rufus are each looking for a friend to spend their End Day with and find one another through an app called Last Friend. The two strangers team up for one final hurrah, experiencing life in a way they never have, before going their separate ways forever. The prequel to this 2017 book, “The First to Die at the End,” was released last October — and has left BookTokers in tears, too.

Yet she is also drawn to the seductive world of the house, which makes it hard for her to leave High Place behind. This suspenseful read, which offers commentary on racism, generational trauma and domestic abuse, has BookTokers obsessed.

'Off the Deep End' by Lucinda Berry

Ten months after the accident, Jules is still reeling from the death of her child and grappling with the fact that she inadvertently saved the wrong boy. But then the boy suddenly and inexplicably vanishes, and Jules is now taking center stage in a police investigation. The author, a former clinical psychologist herself, has captivated BookTok with her ability to capture profound grief in a realistic way.

'Verity' by Colleen Hoover

As she begins to have feelings for the author’s husband, Lowen struggles to determine if she should share the autobiography with him as it’s bound to forever alter his relationship with his wife. This sensational psychological thriller, penned by the same author as “It Ends with Us,” has led to debate between BookTokers over its ambiguous ending.

Perfect Your PPC Marketing Strategy Paid Search Checklist

1. define your goals.

Are you aiming to increase web traffic or grow your social media presence? Figure out why you’re leveraging paid media in the first place and build your strategy from there. Having clearly defined goals in mind will help you focus on your brand’s key priorities.

2. Outline a TOFU/MOFU/BOFU Strategy

Designing strategies that cater to all three stages of the buyer journey ensures that you’re maximizing your brand’s reach. Every user at every stage is valuable—and you have to make sure you’re creating paid media content that speaks to each audience type.

3. Research Keywords for Search

Effective paid media is tied to targeting the right keywords. If you’re leveraging paid search ads to appear on SERPs (search engine results pages), then in-depth research is necessary. Bid on the keywords that are most relevant to your business to trigger only the most effective ad appearances.

4. Craft Engaging Ad Copy & Stand-Out Creative

Gather your team—because it’s time to start coming up with ad copy that wins attention. The key is to resonate with your audience and inspire engagement. Be real. Be relatable. And most importantly, don’t underestimate the power of creativity.

5. Create Conversion-Friendly Landing Pages

Do the landing pages on your website effectively push visitors further down the sales funnel? If not, you’re letting potential customers slip through your fingers. Optimize each of your landing pages so that they nudge users towards converting.

6. Choose Your Paid Platforms

The options are plenty when it comes to paid advertising, including Google, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft, and Pinterest among others. Analyze who your target demographic is, research where it’s best to connect with them, and then target the platforms where you wish to build awareness.

7. Build Campaigns & Ad Groups/Sets

If you’re ready to build your paid media ad campaign, you’ll find that it will be further broken down into “ad groups” to ensure more effective pay-per-click advertising. These ad groups house one or more ads that have similar targets or categories. Let’s say your brand’s website features categories such as clothing, shoes, and accessories. Creating ad groups according to keywords that fall under these categories will help the PPC system decide when to show ads for these products.

8. Don’t Forget About Retargeting Ads

Retargeting ads are bound to succeed because it’s a second shot at a conversion. Visitors have shown interest in the product/service once before, and sometimes all it takes is a little reminder to push them to the checkout page. So don’t forget to retarget and aim better this time.

9. Run A/B Tests

In the world of paid media, what works and what doesn’t? You’ll have to run A/B tests to find out! Whether you’re testing which keywords bring more traffic or which social platforms earn more ad engagement, you won’t find out what really works for your brand until you test it.

10. Track Your Results

Revisit your initial goals. Did your efforts bring about the results you expected? Tracking results is an essential step in your brand’s paid advertising campaigns. The data you collect from currently running ads will help lay the foundation for your future campaigns.

11. Adjust as Needed

After tracking your results, you’ll be able to see where adjustments are necessary. There’s always room for improvement, so keep striving to consistently resonate and build trust with your audience—it’s how to create paid ads that pay off.

40 BookTok Books That Are Actually Worth the Read

From magical fantasies to sweet rom-coms, your TBR pile is about to topple over—thanks to TikTok.

book covers

Country Living editors select each product featured. If you buy from a link, we may earn a commission. Why Trust Us?

Whether you're a seasoned reader or just picking up the habit, it's hard to ignore the impact BookTok (shorthand for the rise of book content on TikTok) has had on the publishing world.

Although we, as lifelong readers, love seeing everyone fall head over heels for reading, some of BookTok's recommendations could use some finessing. After all, with so many recommendations, there's bound to be a dud or two in the mix. Luckily, there are plenty of great books that have become synonymous with BookTok—and we're rounding them up just for you.

Behold 40 TikTok-approved books that are actually worth the read (or listen, if you prefer to go the Amazon Audible route), from love stories that will leave you blushing to literary tomes and young adult novels that will make you feel like a kid again.

Fourth Wing

Fourth Wing

Even fantasy skeptics will fall for this novel, set at a war college where students are bound to dragons. Violet is supposed to become a quiet scribe working in a library until she defies the odds and enters the Riders Quadrant, where she starts intense training and combat in preparation for fighting in a brutal war. In a romantic twist, she can't help but fall for Xaden, the ruthless and brooding wingleader in charge of her training.

Fourth Wing is the perfect starter fantasy series because the world-building isn't too intense and most of the characters are humans. As strange as it might sound, you'll have a newfound appreciation for dragons after reading.

Beach Read

Emily Henry is truly the patron saint of the perfect rom-com. Her novels are equal parts hilarious and heartwarming, and she has an uncanny ability to pen romances in which the characters feel like real people.

All of her rom-coms are worth the read, but if you're looking for a place to start, you can't go wrong with Beach Read , a rom-com about dueling novelists who fall in love after challenging each other to write a book in the other's genre. Although you can certainly expect lots of laughs, don't be surprised if you get a little misty by the end of this one!

Remarkably Bright Creatures

Remarkably Bright Creatures

Ever wonder what animals in the aquarium are thinking? That phenomenon is explored in Remarkably Bright Creatures , which has defied the literary odds and sold over a million copies , thanks in large part to BookTok.

Tova takes a job working the night shift at an aquarium to help cope with her grief after the death of her husband and the disappearance of her son over thirty years ago. At work, she becomes acquainted with Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus with a less-than-sparkling attitude. As their bond grows, Marcellus begins to investigate what happened to Tova's son in order to help her with her grief. Dear reader, you've been warned, bring tissues if you read this one in public.

Seven Days in June

Seven Days in June

Even the strictest romance skeptic will fall head over heels for this love story following two writers who just can't quit writing about each other in their bestsellers.

Eva Mercy, a paranormal erotica writer and single mom grappling with chronic migraines, is shocked when she runs into Shane Hall, an award-winning literary author, at a book event. What members of New York's literary scene don't know is that Eva and Shane spent one sizzling week together as teens that ended in tragedy and have been including references to each other in their work ever since. Over seven steamy summer days, the pair reconnect—although Eva is wary of having her heart broken by Shane all over again.

I'm Glad My Mom Died

I'm Glad My Mom Died

No matter if you're intimately familiar with Jennette McCurdy's Nickelodeon years or have never seen an episode of iCarly , this memoir is a must-read.

Although the title is jarring, this is a deeply emotional, sometimes difficult, and surprisingly funny depiction of growing up as a child star in the spotlight. There's no denying that Jennette has been through a lot—this book covers everything from her struggle with alcohol to eating disorders and an abusive relationship with her mother. It's impossible to not root for Jennette to reclaim her life, and you'll marvel at not only her dazzling storytelling (she's now working on her first novel!), but also her remarkable resilience.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

Taylor Jenkins Reid is one of BookTok's most beloved authors. While her contemporary romances are sweet, easy reads, her historical work is where she shines. All four of her historical novels ( The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo , Daisy Jones and the Six , Malibu Rising , and Carrie Soto Is Back ) are connected through small Easter eggs, but you can read them in any order.

Start with The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo , which is reportedly inspired by Elizabeth Taylor's prolific love life. After a long Hollywood career, Evelyn Hugo has become reclusive. She decides to re-emerge with a tell-all memoir about her seven marriages and taps an unsuspecting reporter to pen the book. Prepare yourself for a twist that will make your jaw hit the floor!

Better Than the Movies

Better Than the Movies

If you're in need of a sweet read that evokes the feeling of watching your favorite 1980s teen movie (John Hughes, anyone?), it doesn't get any, well, better than Better Than The Movies .

Lix Buxbaum, a teenage movie buff, has spent her formative years pining after Michael, until he moves away. After he returns to town years later, Liz is poised to finally make her move, even if it means she has to befriend Wes, her next-door neighbor and Michael's closest friend at school. Not only is this book one of the sweetest depictions of first love you'll ever read, it's also chock-full of film references.

The Song of Achilles

The Song of Achilles

The Song of Achilles might be one of the best stories to come out of BookTok. When the novel was released in 2012, it received critical acclaim, but it didn't make a huge splash commercially. After it went viral on TikTok, though, it became a bestseller over a decade after it was first released.

This novel reimagines Homer's The Iliad. Achilles, known as the "best of all the Greeks," develops a special bond with Patroclus, an awkward young prince who was exiled from his own homeland. When war erupts, both Achilles and Patroclus head into combat, only to find that fate will test them in unprecedented ways.

Red, White & Royal Blue

Red, White & Royal Blue

Diplomacy is on display in this swoonworthy romance that was recently turned into a movie.

Alex Claremont-Diaz, America's First Son, is playing his role as American royalty perfectly, aside from one thing: He's involved in a longstanding feud with Prince Henry, who's next in line to the British throne. When the tabloids get ahold of a photo of the duo in an altercation, it becomes a PR nightmare. Their teams devise a plan to stage a truce between the rivals that turns deeper when they begin to fall for each other. There's no better read for royal watchers, political pundits, or anyone who loves a good love story.

Divine Rivals

Divine Rivals

Imagine the movie You've Got Mail set in a magical world where gods are at war after centuries of sleep and love interests communicate using magical typewriters. That's exactly what you get with Divine Rivals , the first in a young adult duology (you're in luck: the sequel, Ruthless Vows , is out now).

Iris Winnow is counting on a promotion at the newspaper in order to support her struggling family. Every night after work, she uses her typewriter to pen letters to her brother, who is missing at war. When she slips the letters under her closet door, they vanish into the hands of Roman, Iris's rival at the newspaper. When he begins to write her back, they forge a romantic connection that is tested by the war.

Everything I Know About Love: A Memoir

Everything I Know About Love: A Memoir

British columnist Dolly Alderton channels all of the feelings of first love, friendship woes, and job-searching into her debut memoir. Through hilarious commentary, she recounts everything from her failed relationships to mending friendships, all with the relatable voice of a big sister or a best friend.

Everything I Know About Love is jam-packed with early 2000s nostalgia, one-liners that will have you wiping away tears of laughter, astute observations about growing up and figuring out who you are—and even recipes and satirical emails. While some might classify this as a self-help book (Dolly does give some great advice!), her heartfelt humor is what makes this book so special.

Verity

It's no secret that Colleen Hoover's novels dominate BookTok. If you're looking for a place to start, we recommend Verity , which we can confidently say will be unlike anything you've ever read before.

Lowen, a struggling writer, gets the break of a lifetime when she's hired by Jeremy to ghostwrite the remaining books in his wife Verity's bestselling book series. When Lowen moves into their home, she discovers a manuscript for Verity's unpublished memoir that reveals shocking secrets. As Lowen's feelings for Jeremy intensify, she considers showing him the manuscript in a bid to win him over. We'll stop there. It's best to go into this book knowing as little as possible—the twists are that shocking.

A Court of Thorns and Roses

A Court of Thorns and Roses

Sarah J. Maas, who has written three fantasy series, was already incredibly popular before the dawn of BookTok—but her novels have become full-blown sensations, thanks to her legion of fervent fans on the app.

This ongoing series, which currently contains four full-length novels and a novella, begins as a loose retelling of Beauty and the Beast . After Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, she's given an ultimatum: die or move to a magical land that's not safe for humans. As she acclimates to her new surroundings, she's drawn to a faerie whose fate becomes entwined with her own.

Normal People

Normal People

While BookTok is famous for fawning over happily ever afters, there's one deeply realistic (and slightly sad) love story that's been a viral success.

Sally Rooney's Normal People follows Connell and Marianne through their formative years. They first meet in high school, where Connell is a popular soccer player and Marianne is lonely, but wealthy, living in a palatial home that Connell's mother cleans. The duo form a close bond through secret meet-ups. A year later, they're both students at Trinity College in Dublin, where the roles have reversed: Marianne is thriving, while Connell is shy and uncertain. Through their college years, they remain magnetically drawn to each other, despite outside forces threatening to pull them apart.

The Love Hypothesis

The Love Hypothesis

As the jokes go, every rom-com heroine works for a magazine, owns a bakery, or has a creative job of sorts. But Ali Hazelwood turns that stereotype on its head with The Love Hypothesis , the first in a series of romances involving women working in STEM.

The Love Hypothesis (which actually started out as fan fiction) introduces readers to Olive, a lovable PhD candidate who fake dates Adam, a young and successful professor, in order to convince her best friend that she's in a happy relationship. As most fake dating books go, Adam and Olive begin to realize that their feelings might not be fake, with charming romantic twists that will make your heart flutter.

Crying in H Mart

Crying in H Mart

Michelle Zauner, also the lead singer of the band Japanese Breakfast, flexes her writing chops in this moving memoir about losing her mother and reclaiming her Korean-American identity.

After growing up as one of the few Asian-American kids in her Oregon hometown, Zauner begins to shed her Korean identity, especially as the pressure of her mother's lofty expectations loom. When her mother is diagnosed with terminal cancer, it forces her to reckon with not only their relationship, but her Korean roots, as the pair bond over their shared culinary memories. This book feels like sensory overload in the best way: Zauner's depictions of grief and loss are cathartic for anyone who has experienced it, and she holds her own as a talented food writer.

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder

You don't have to be a high schooler to fall head over heels for A Good Girl's Guide To Murder , the first installment in a trilogy that casts teen Pippa as an unsuspecting detective investigating a murder that took place in her hometown five years before. As she dives deeper into the case, she turns her findings into a podcast that makes her the target of messages threatening her to stop the investigation...or else.

Although this is technically a young adult mystery, it's complete with sophisticated twists that will leave even the most seasoned thriller readers reeling.

Project Hail Mary

Project Hail Mary

So you're interested in science fiction but have no clue where to start? Might we suggest Project Hail Mary , one of the most readable sci-fi novels and a perennial BookTok fave?

When Ryland Grace wakes up as the sole survivor on a spaceship, he can't even remember his own name, let alone the fact that he's the only person who can save the planet. It's up to him to rescue humankind, aided by Rocky, an alien companion who has strong Wall-E vibes. This book has a lot of science talk, but Weir's deeply emotional writing and knack for building suspense will hook you.

Lessons in Chemistry

Lessons in Chemistry

There are plenty of sweet mother-daughter stories that have made waves on TikTok, but Lessons in Chemistry , which also inspires women to chase their dreams, is a standout.

Elizabeth Zott is a talented chemist who is constantly passed over for promotions and recognition. After all, it's the 1960s, and chemistry is a male-dominated field. When she meets Calvin Evans, a lonely Nobel Prize winner, he's the first person to give her a chance. Years later, Elizabeth finds herself as a single mother and the reluctant star of Supper at Six , a cooking show that infuses chemistry principles into recipes—and in turn, inspires viewers to change the status quo. Oh, did we mention there's a talking dog?

It Happened One Summer

It Happened One Summer

Schitt's Creek fans, listen up: It Happened One Summer is essentially a steamy take on what would happen if Alexis Rose was sent to a small beach town in the Pacific Northwest, where she falls for a surly boat captain she can't quit butting heads with.

Tessa Bailey is a popular author on BookTok—she's written everything from spicy holiday romances to flirty comedies revolving around a cast of construction worker characters. Despite her vast catalog, this book (and its sequel, Hook, Line, and Sinker ) has made the biggest splash on TikTok, and for good reason: It's her best work!

Madison McGee is a lifestyle editor for Hearst Magazines. She can usually be found reading, exploring New York’s many indie bookstores, cheering on the Baltimore Ravens and the Ole Miss Rebels, or wishing she was lying on the beach.

21 Books That Went Viral on TikTok

Kate is a 2011 Drake University grad, where she received her BA in magazine journalism. A hopeless romantic with a cynical heart, Kate will read anything that comes with a content warning, a love triangle, and a major plot twist. Twitter: @katekrug Blog:  http://snarky-yet-satisfying.com

With over 84 billion views globally, #BookTok is one of TikTok’s most active and enthusiastic communities — all united around the singular goal of sharing a love for reading and books. Since TikTok’s global rise to popularity, now boasting over 1 million active monthly users , #BookTok has made a splash and led to several important partnerships and activations on the platform. Because of that, the books that went viral on TikTok have led to many many sales for these authors.

The #BookTokChallenge was held this summer and challenged TikTok users to share what they were reading. Held from June 29-August 31, the hashtag currently has 170 million views and features several creators and a partnership with Barnes & Noble. And at the end of September, TikTok announced a collaboration with Penguin Random House that allows creators to link their favorite books in-app. This feature is currently available in the U.S. and UK.

In preparation for compiling this list, a quick scroll through #BookTok unearthed top videos primarily from white creators who focus on books by white authors with mostly white characters. Thanks to TikTok’s algorithm, users can curate their feeds with diverse creators who feature a variety of titles, but the first challenge is finding those creators and actively engaging with their content. It is the hope that looking up some of these titles will introduce you to a new side of #BookTok (if you’re not already there).

There’s no doubt that #BookTok is an incredibly useful platform — having given several backlist titles new life and a second chance at The New York Times Best Seller lists. With it, lesser known or new authors also have an equal opportunity to go viral as globally known ones. And it is amazing to see a new generation fall in love with reading, whether they discover a classic or the latest release.

Let’s get into the list!

Social Media’s Impact on Physical Body Dissatisfaction and Objectified Body Consciousness: Investigating Miami’s Adolescent Self-Perception from Exposure to TikTok

  • Amaya Garcia Academy for Advanced Academics

This paper examines the variables that led to the highest levels of objectified body consciousness (OBC) and physical body dissatisfaction (PBD) among adolescents aged 13-19 who were exposed to TikTok and attended school in Miami-Dade County after the COVID-19 pandemic. TikTok is used at high frequencies by various adolescent age ranges; however, previous studies identified that constant exposure leads to negative body image issues, ultimately resulting in long-term detrimental health effects. Factor analysis identified the correlation among variables collected through the distribution of a questionnaire in which adolescents shared their feelings about their body images from exposure to TikTok. The strongest variables identifying PBD and OBC among adolescents were the exposure before and after one’s reported TikTok experience and the belief that one’s TikTok experience affects an adolescent’s perception of their physical appearance and the answer to this question, respectively. This study identified that users who engaged in higher frequencies of TikTok usage were more likely to rate themselves with a higher overall body satisfaction due to pre-established conditioning of harmful exposure from TikTok, regardless of one’s gender. Conclusions drawn were that social media applications such as TikTok directly impact an adolescent’s feeling of OBC and PBD, and increased exposure will only lead to lower PBD levels and higher OBC levels, altering one’s self-perception.

Emily Henry on Writing Best-Sellers Without Tours and TikTok

The author of “Funny Story” churned out five consecutive No. 1 best-sellers without leaving her comfort zone. How did she pull it off?

“Everything around release is really, really exciting,” Emily Henry said, “but it’s not the space I want to live in. I want to be at home writing.” Credit... Madeleine Hordinski for The New York Times

By Elisabeth Egan

Reporting from Cincinnati

  • June 27, 2024

Emily Henry has never been on a book tour or done a traditional bookstore reading. She’s not on TikTok. Her Instagram features book covers and an occasional giveaway; there are no closet tours, rescue cats or elegantly plated snacks.

Henry doesn’t want to be, as she puts it, a “writer slash mini-celebrity.” She’s a romance novelist , full stop. It’s an uncommon, maybe even gutsy, approach in the era of the all-access pass, when readers of popular fiction expect a level of quasi intimacy with favorite writers.

Nevertheless, Henry — “EmHen” to fans — has launched five No. 1 best-sellers in four years. Her latest blockbuster, “Funny Story,” has been on the best-seller list for nine weeks. In its first two months, the book racked up almost 60,000 customer reviews on Goodreads and sparked a cottage industry of T-shirts, sweatshirts, candles, bookmarks and stickers.

All told, Henry has sold seven million copies of her books in the United States since 2020. Three of her novels are in development to become films. On Tuesday, Henry announced that another, “Happy Place,” is going to be a series on Netflix.

“It’s been kind of a whirlwind,” Henry said. “The last four years have felt like they were 35 seconds long.”

Chatting with Henry outside Coffee Emporium in leafiest Cincinnati, it was hard to imagine her retreating into quietude. She presented as an instant connector, parrying substantive conversation while perusing a menu that included a Brew Hoo, a Flying Piggie and an Orange Jillius. And while we’re in the vicinity of old school mall food courts: Imagine Elisabeth Shue in “ Adventures in Babysitting ” crossed with Carly Simon circa “You’re So Vain” and you have Henry’s blond, brown-eyed warmth.

Real 'Mom and Dad's Swinger Party' Book for Kids?

The book was published by a canadian-based author, comedian and youtuber., nick hardinges, published june 25, 2024.

Labeled Satire

About this rating

This "children's book" really exists, but its content was satirical and it was written and published for adults, not children.

On June 24, 2024, an X user posted a video of a woman reading aloud a purported kids' book titled "Mom and Dad's Swinger Party" and suggested the publication proved the queer community is "filled with pedophiles."

Other X users replying to the clip appeared to believe the title was a legitimate children's book , with one writing : "This is disgusting. What would possess someone to write and publish this?"

Similar posts appeared elsewhere on X  in June 2024, with one captioned : "They're going after the kids."

Together, they had amassed more than 640,000 views at the time of this writing.

The claim also appeared in numerous X posts in June 2023, where one user wrote : "Unreal. This is a "childrens" book explaining "Mom & Dad's Swinger Parties". If this isn't grooming a child into adult perversions…I don't know what is. It's probably available at your local school library!"

However, the book was created by Brad Gosse , a comedian, author and YouTuber based in Toronto, Canada, who writes satirical, "dark humor" books in the style of kids' books.

The last page of the publication was shown in the video, where it stated the content was satirical, as follows:

I have over 100 humor books and several strange coloring books available on Amazon. My humor books cover a wide range of topics and styles, from dumb jokes and puns to satirical takes on current events. Whatever your sense of humor, you'll find something to love or hate in my collection.

Gosse's website contained more than 120 children's-style books. It stated: "He loves to entertain people whether it be through his jokes or his books. He started publishing his 'children's books' in 2019. He has published over 120 dark humor books so far."

He also branded himself a "professional troll" in his X bio , where he said: "If you're triggered I'm thrilled."

The video being shared online in June 2024 was originally posted by TikTok user @jenjenivivereads, whose caption read: "Ive [sic] edited this post to say that this is an ADULTS parody book. Because the level of hate im [sic] getting right now is ridiculous."

Some X users who shared the clip in June 2024 later added they had discovered the book was satirical.
